Yellow light

Foreboding reins the mind while

The words say otherwise, the hands

Reluctant as they touch, the eyes

Starring in to empty space, smiling blank while

A mind conjures up a world

At the sight of a yellow light.

The willfully wise thoughts play

Games of its own, the mind

Flutters its wings

Like a butterfly freeing itself from the confines of a cocoon

Time and time again.

Thank you so much for the award. I really appreciate it. I nominate mindlovemisery  for his wonderful and insightful words :)

A great extended metaphor for the power of imagination, when what the senses tell us may not be the best, we always have our minds.

I like these lines the most, so much potential in them. What is the word? Why a yellow light? Something one sees often, inducing cocoon escape … so good. Ordinary equals a catalyst of the extraordinary. Yes.
